AlterSpin Deposit – Multiple Attempts Were Needed (Video)

The deposit experience at AlterSpin is the most difficult in this entire testing series. Five attempts across four different payment methods before €100 was in the account. Four of those attempts failed in different ways, and what made each failure worse was the absence of any useful feedback about what went wrong. I want to walk through each attempt in detail because every one of them represents a different way that a player could be lost at the most important stage of the onboarding journey.

Attempts One and Two: Silent Redirects to the Homepage

The first two attempts used the Visa and Mastercard option. Both of them ended the same way: the deposit flow was aborted and the user was redirected back to the casino homepage without any message. No error. No explanation. No indication that a deposit had even been attempted. The browser simply returned to the main page as if nothing had happened.

This is the most damaging kind of failure from a player’s perspective. At least an error message tells you something went wrong. A silent redirect to the homepage leaves you with no information at all. Did the payment fail? Was the card declined? Did something time out? Is the site broken? There is no way to know. Both attempts are in the first and second deposit screen recordings.

Attempt Three: Transaction Declined, No Reason Given

The third Mastercard attempt produced a ‘Transaction Declined’ message. That is progress in the sense that it is at least a response, but the message contained no additional information. No reason for the decline, no suggestion of what to try differently, no indication of whether the issue was with the card, the payment processor, or the platform itself. The third attempt is in the third deposit screen recording.

A player who has now had three consecutive failed card attempts with no useful feedback has every reason to assume the platform is broken or that something is wrong with their account. The realistic outcome for most players at this point is abandonment.

Attempt Four: ‘Being Processed’ With No Outcome

The fourth attempt used the Pay By Card option rather than the standard Mastercard route. After an extended loading period, the screen displayed the message ‘Your deposit is being processed.’ Then nothing. No confirmation email arrived. No funds were credited to the account. The banking app showed no activity. The fourth attempt is in the fourth deposit screen recording.

A message saying a deposit is being processed, followed by no outcome and no follow-up communication, is in some ways the most concerning failure of the four. It leaves the player in genuine uncertainty about whether money has left their account and gone somewhere unspecified. The correct response in this situation is to wait and then contact support, but most players will not know that. They will assume something has gone badly wrong.

Attempt Five: Bank Transfer, First Try, No Issues

The fifth attempt used the Bank Transfer option. It worked immediately. The process was smooth and clearly laid out. No unexpected fees appeared, the amount entered was the amount processed, and the funds were credited to the account instantly after confirmation. The fifth attempt is in the fifth deposit screen recording.

The contrast between attempt five and attempts one through four is the core problem with the AlterSpin deposit experience. Bank Transfer works. The card options do not, and when they fail they do so without giving players any useful information or direction. A player who knows to try Bank Transfer can fund their account without any difficulty. A player who only tries the card options will almost certainly leave.

No Confirmation Email

After the successful Bank Transfer, no confirmation email arrived. There is no email record of the deposit having been made. Combined with the absence of any registration confirmation email, this means a new AlterSpin player arrives at the gameplay stage with no email record of any transaction or account activity whatsoever.

The 1x Wagering Requirement and Payment Methods After Deposit

Once the deposit was in, the 1x wagering requirement applied before withdrawals became available. Deposit €100 and wager €100 in real-money bets before the cashout option activates. Without a bonus, many casinos require 2x or 3x wagering before releasing funds. With a bonus the industry standard is 30x to 40x. A 1x no-bonus requirement is genuinely player-friendly.

After the deposit completed, additional payment methods became available in the cashier, including Sparkasse, Apple Pay, Paysafecard, Revolut, Deutsche Bank, Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, Rapid Transfer, Skrill, and Neteller. These options are not visible before the first deposit, which is a common design pattern but one that limits the apparent flexibility of the platform at the moment when a new player is making their first payment decision.

The most urgent fix AlterSpin needs to make is to the card payment options. Two silent redirects, one unexplained decline, and one processing message with no outcome are four different ways to lose a player permanently. Each one needs to be investigated and resolved.

When I review a casino, I don't rely on casino-provided content or demo accounts. I deposit my own money, play through the platform as any real user would, and report exactly what I find - good or bad. Deposit fees, verification requirements, withdrawal speed, gameplay, mobile app reliability - I test all of it firsthand before writing a single word.
