Casea Deposit: How I managed to fund my account (Video)
The deposit experience at Casea is the most significant problem in this entire review. It took three separate attempts across three different failure modes before €100 was sitting in my account. I want to walk through each one in detail, because each represents a different kind of trust problem that will cause real players to leave.
First Attempt: The Currency Switch
I entered €100 as the deposit amount and proceeded through the payment flow. At the point where the transaction was summarised, the amount displayed was not €100. It had switched to GBP and showed as £88.84, which at the time of testing corresponded to approximately €102. The deposit attempt is in the first deposit screen recording.
Let me be precise about why this is a serious problem. A player who enters €100 expects to be charged €100. Seeing £88.84 in a different currency on the confirmation screen means two things: first, the currency has changed without any warning or explanation; second, the implied charge in EUR terms is higher than what was entered. Even if the maths happen to produce an equivalent amount after conversion, the experience of seeing your deposit amount transform into a foreign currency with a different number is disorienting and alarming. It triggers doubt about whether the platform is handling money correctly.
I cancelled the transaction immediately. Most players would do the same.
Second Attempt: The Verification Loop
The second attempt using the same Mastercard progressed further through the payment flow. After entering the card details, I was redirected to an ‘Additional Verification Required’ page. This is a standard 3D Secure or similar step that appears occasionally with card payments. I clicked through. The page entered an infinite loading state.
The same problem as the phone number correction during registration: nothing responded, there was no timeout, and there was no way forward from within the flow. The process had to be aborted. The second attempt is in the second deposit screen recording.
Two failed deposit attempts in a row, each for a different reason, is a conversion failure rate that should concern any platform. A player who has already been shown a GBP charge on a EUR deposit and then gets trapped in an unresolvable verification loop will not try a third time. They will find a different casino.
Third Attempt: The One That Worked
The third attempt processed correctly. The deposit was charged in EUR, no additional fees appeared, the card details were accepted without triggering the verification redirect, and the funds were credited to my account immediately. The third deposit is in the third deposit screen recording.
What changed between attempt two and attempt three is unclear. Same card, same amount, same device. Whatever caused the currency switch on the first attempt and the verification loop on the second did not appear on the third. That inconsistency is part of the problem. A deposit process that produces three different outcomes from three identical attempts is not a stable system.
The 1x Wagering Requirement
Once the deposit was in, the 1x wagering requirement applied before withdrawals became available. Deposit €100 and wager €100 in real-money bets and the cashout option activates. Without a bonus, many casinos require 2x or 3x wagering before releasing funds. Accept a bonus and the industry standard is typically 30x to 40x. A 1x no-bonus requirement is one of the most player-friendly conditions in common use. Casea should display it clearly in the cashier at deposit time. The condition itself is not the problem. The problem is the deposit process that precedes it.
What Casea Needs to Fix
Two things need urgent attention. First, the currency switching. When a player enters an amount in EUR, every subsequent screen in the payment flow should display that amount in EUR. Any conversion to a different currency should be explicitly disclosed before the player reaches the confirmation step, with a clear explanation of why the currency has changed and what the final charge will be. Second, the verification redirect that leads to an infinite loading state needs to be resolved. A 3D Secure page that loads indefinitely with no escape is a broken payment flow, not a friction point.
Until both of these are fixed, Casea’s deposit process cannot be considered reliable. A player who gets through it on the first attempt was lucky. A player who encounters what I encountered on attempts one and two will not make it to attempt three.
